Privacy and corrections

This site quotes public posts to examine money-making claims that were made in public. This page says what we hold, why, and how to have something corrected or removed.

Who is responsible

Does It Pay is run by Amit, a private individual in Portugal, who is responsible for the personal data on this site. Contact: [email protected].

What we collect and publish

We collect public posts from X and public web pages. We publish account names, quoted posts, view counts and sourced statements about what an account says it earns or sells. We do this to examine money-making claims that were made in public, and we rely on our legitimate interest in informing the public about those claims.

We keep the posts we cite for as long as the page that cites them is online. Posts we collected and do not cite are deleted within 90 days.

Your right to object

If you are quoted or named on this site, you can object to it at any time, and ask for access, correction or removal, by writing to [email protected]. We aim to reply within 14 days, and always within one month. You can also complain to the Portuguese data protection authority, CNPD (cnpd.pt).

Corrections and replies

If something about you is wrong, tell us and we correct it with a dated note on the page. If you want your reply shown beside what we wrote, send it. A sentence that is seriously disputed comes down while we check it. Small personal accounts are removed on request.

Our X account

@does_it_pay is automated. It replies only when we tag it ourselves under a post. If you do not want replies under your posts, write to the address above and we will add you to a list it checks before replying.
